Two of the world's top business schools, and pioneers in executive education, have jointly developed a unique business education model
Thirty years ago, a pioneer partnership was formed to transform executive education in Brazil. INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral, two of the best business schools in the world, have jointly created the Advanced Management Programme (PGA). PGA focuses on preparing leaders of national and multinational organisations, both private and public, to address the challenges of the business world - both current and future.
With an intense schedule distributed in three and a half weeks, the programme takes place at the Fundação Dom Cabral campuses in Nova Lima and São Paulo, and on the INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France. In addition to the in-depth content, it also represents an unique opportunity for the participants to interact with executives, professors and specialists from different sectors and regions. So far, more than 1000 business leaders have participated in the programme.
With the strength of its 30-year trajectory, PGA has not only developed business leaders, it has also transformed the business environment and influenced business development in Brazil and other countries. “The partnership between INSEAD and Fundação Dom Cabral guarantees the offering of a curriculum connected with the state-of-the-art executive education in the world,” says Felipe Monteiro, INSEAD Senior Affiliate Professor of Strategy and the Academic Director of the programme. “It inspires the business leaders in Brazil to take on the global challenges and harness business as a force for good. This underpins both schools’ commitment to develop responsible leaders who transform the business and society”.
According to Professor Carlos Arruda, Director of the Programme at Fundação Dom Cabral, “In a scenario of constant transformation, what defines a leader is not only management skills, but its ability to build one's own future. Considering this, it is essential to develop a broader vision with a deep understanding of oneself, the organisation and society.” This unique methodology promotes a review of business conceptions, organisational and individual practices, and a broad view of the world.
The PGA methodology also advances to the development of business prototyping based on analysis of strategic practices, evaluation and coaching. Among the topics covered, are the future of capitalism; technological, geopolitical and demographic macro trends; coaching for personal growth; disruptive innovations; development of emotional capital for strategy execution and responsible leadership.
Focus on leadership
As a leader, one must guide teams and direct organisations to anticipate changes in the business world. This is one of the focuses of the PGA. The programme addresses the complexities of the business world, especially those related to changes in digital technologies, economy and market behavior. In addition to rethinking their management practices, participants have the opportunity to develop insights that will drive performance and sustainability in their organisations. C-Level corporate leaders (CEO or equivalent), entrepreneurs, and leaders responsible for the organisations' strategy are the target audience of the Programme.
