Paulo is passionate about technology and entrepreneurship. He was Founder & CEO at 99, the top Brazilian ride-haling app. 99 received more than $250m in funding from Softbank, Tiger Global and Didi, among others. 99 is regarded as the first ever Brazilian Unicorn, a tech startup valued at more than $1B.
Paulo is an angel investor in several tech startups and a board member at Localiza (largest car rental business in Latin America); B2W (Brazil's largest e-commerce operation) and CargoX (biggest freight marketplace in the region). He led Endeavor in Brazil for four years, a global non-profit that supports high-impact entrepreneurship in emerging markets, where he is now part of the Board of Trustees. Paulo is a Mechatronics Engineer from Poli-USP and holds an MBA from INSEAD. He founded and led six digital startups since 1995.
Paulo is an author of 2 books, "From Deep Within the Bubble" released in 2004 and "Green & Yellow Unicorn", released in 2020.
